Part 3: This Is My Purpose
It was time to go all in. In my mind, the only way this is going to be successful was not treating this like a hobby but to put 100 percent of my time and energy into this. So I sold everything that I owned and started my journey of beer, wine, and spirits.
In April 2018, I set out to live in a different country every month, learning from brewers, winemakers, distillers and in the same month launch my Youtube channel. Physically and metally it was challenging.
In September of 2018, I was filming episodes and living in Croatia when I contemplated giving up? Why? I began to chase subscribers, followers and losing sight of the very reasonwhy I started this journey. I remember thinking how much money, time, energy I am putting into making these videos. All the research and to only get a few views, negarive comments on how bad the audio was or how bad I was on camera. The inner voice was saying, "Nobody likes this content." or "You're not good enough." I starting doubting myself and believing I was better off just traveling the world without filming episodes and quitting.
One trait I learned in the Army is never giving up. In all the military schools I went through, the 5 years of deployments in combat, I would never give up on my team and on myself. I had to check myself. I still have these talks all the time, but the voice that always wines is the one that says NEVER GIVE UP.
I stopped focusing on numbers and focused on getting better each day in everything I was doing. I put my head down and got to work, filming over 60 episodes in 2018 and 2019.
I think about what if I would have given up? I would never got to meet some of the most amazing people around the world that I now call friends. I would never know my current success and missed out on all the quality interactions. I still have along way to go. There is still so much to learn and still achieve, but one things for sure I will never give up until I achieve them.
