Facing This Thing Called Fear
March 26th, 2003. I was 24 years old, responsible for inspecting parachutes for the jump into Iraq later that night and into war with the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Looking back, this was one of thousands of situations during my military career where I had to face this thing called fear.
Most of my proudest moments of my life is having to face and overcome fear. You gain courage, confidence, and strength by every experience in which you reall stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I lived through this moment. I can handle the next thing that comes my way."
When I started this new journey of beer, wine, and spirits I was afraid of alot of things, mainly to be in front of a camera, what people thought of me, all the negative comments, and I can only imagine and think, what if I let this fear control me?
Bravery is being the only one who knows youre afraid and courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.
